IT Support for Individuals, Families and Carers

IT can be confusing, especially if you have a wide range of software and assistive technology to support you.  Adapt-IT understand assistive IT systems and technology and can support.  For the last two years we have supported Individuals, Families and Carers to manage a user’s IT and ensure it remains functional and appropriately safe for the user.

We can take away the challenges and help ensure that your IT and communications systems remain functional and secure.

Adapt-IT's IT Support Package

Having access to technical support that understands I.T. and any assistive hardware and software a  person uses can offer the user, the carers and support team peace of mind.  Adapt-IT’s annual Assistive Technology and Support Package  provides management, setup guidance based on the user needs and security support of your IT systems, software and its associated Assistive Technology.

An Adapt-IT specialist will monitor and review the IT to ensure the computer is up to date, operating optimally and importantly safely and securely.

The Support Included

The package includes:

  • Specifically designed for people with disabilities, chronic illness or vulnerabilities.
  • Provides support to users, their carers, and/or support
  • Access to specialists in assistive technology support and setup.
  • Initial Cyber Security review and configuration.
  • Remote configuration and IT support if there is a problem.
  • Support for Assistive Technology devices/software configuration and setup.
  • Basic security monitoring.
  • Parental control implementation (optional).
  • Annual contract for peace of mind.
  • Incident response advice.
  • Telephone and email support:
  • Monday to Thursday 9:00 -17:00 and Friday 9:00 – 15:30 excluding UK Public and Bank Holidays.

Initial onboarding Checks and Setup

To ensure your I.T. and Assistive technology is operational, safe and secure we carry out a multipoint check and setup annually.  This is aimed at ensuring the system is setup for the user.  This includes making it safe and secure based on the user needs.  This can include special setups for vulnerable people including full content filtering and social media setup.

  • Administration access review and setup
  • Update management and review installed software to maintain security and features (for licensed software).
  • Ensure all Anti-Virus protection is in place and updating.
  • Check for web-based trackers and unnecessary cookies.
  • System Monitoring which provides us with:
    • Visibility of issues with your computer
    • Oversight of detected viruses or Malware
    • Remote Desktop access to support (Secure access and only when permission given)
    • Support for all IT including mobile phones and tablets with screen share.
