Did you know that you could use assistive switches to control Voiceitt? No? Well now you do!

Functions within Voiceitt have different keyboard shortcuts associated with them.

Keyboard shortcuts  allow faster task execution, reduce physical strain and fatigue by minimising mouse use, and improve accessibility for users who cannot use a mouse.

For example:

  • Click to speak – Space
  • Switch mode – M
  • Play – P
  • Undo – U
  • Clear – R
Switch Programming

With all switches, you are able to program them. This is either done through an app or through a switch box. Once programmed, the switches will act as a keyboard and allow the user to break out the functions within Voiceitt.

Assistive switches provide an alternative to using a mouse or keyboard, enabling independence and access to a wide range of technology, including computers, communication devices, environmental controls for homes, and adapted toys.

Through experimenting with different ideas, we have managed to create different solutions using assistive switches and programmable keyboards.
