Legal Team Support

Supporting Independance Through Technology

Adapt-IT is a specialist in supporting people with disabilities to maximise technology to support independence. The same approach is used to provide expertise in assistive technology and digital safeguarding for your case. We understand the critical role expert witnesses play in legal proceedings, especially when dealing with specialised issues.

We specialise in Medico-Legal and Clinical Negligence cases where the claimant has the need for an Assistive Technology Assessment, Opinion and Recommendations on their needs for the short medium and long term. We have delivered P35 Reports on assistive technology and digital safeguarding for the courts supporting both Claimants and Defendants.

Supporting Legal Teams and the Courts Since November 2023

Assistive Technology

Providing expertise to assess and outline the needs of an individual to get back the independence they have lost due to an index event that has caused cognitive and neurological disabilities or physical injury effecting gross or fine motor control, sight or hearing.

  • Covering all aspects of life from daily living through to recreation and social activities.
  • We review all evidence provided as part of the case and all aspects of the technology currently in place, its effectiveness and its deficits.
  • We then work through the gaps and identify the need of the user for the courts.
  • What would the individual have had in any instance vs a new requirement due to the index event?

Digital Safeguarding

Cyber security expertise focussing on digital safeguarding. What does a vulnerable person need to protect them against themselves or others from the dangers of the internet.

  • Have the appropriate measures been put in place designed to protect the vulnerable person appropriately?
  • Has enough been done?
  • Has the solution been based on pure lock down and not looked at helping independence in a safe way?

We can support the legal teams and courts to understand the deficits in need and provide an expert opinion on what should be or should have been in place.
